Faith Through Grace
Being an example of God's love
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service."
— Romans 12:1 (KJV)
When we become Christians and accept Jesus into our lives, we know that we can’t continue to do everything that we used to do. We are leaving our past behind to become “born again” in God’s eyes so we can be holy and acceptable. During this time, we are choosing to follow God’s path and his instructions on how we should live, and sometimes his will for our lives do not align with some of the actions that we used to partake in. An example of this is choosing forgiveness, which is God’s path, instead of anger towards someone who has mistreated us. No matter where we are in our walk with God, we will continue to learn how to be examples of what Christ is like. As we continue to walk in God’s word, our lives should be examples of his love and grace, so others can see God’s presence in our lives and feel his love. This is how we can minister to others, and help others become saved. If others are looking at our lives and we are doing the opposite of what Christians are supposed to do, then we aren’t good reflections of what God is, and this can push people further away from him.
